RECORDING
|
Yamaha
has been a leader in home and professional recording for many years.
The Yamaha MT400 (4-track cassette), and the MD4S & MD8 (digital
4 and 8-tracks), are fantastic
machines for demo recording and beyond. The 4416HD is a very powerful
16-track that also burns CDs. Much more info is available on Yamaha's
website. |
|
Fostex
has been a pioneer of recording equipment since they began. From the
many models of 4-tracks to the professional level DAT machines and
16-track units, Fostex is a well-known and respected name in recording. |
|
Since
Boss began expanding their efforts past guitar effects and drum machines,
we have been fortunate enough to experience the BR-8, a great digital
8-track with more features than can be listed here - hence the link
to their site. |

SYSTEMS
|
Yorkville
is taking over the P.A. system market to such an extent that their
equipment can be seen in more clubs and stadiums than can easily be
counted. With the Pulse, Elite and TX lines, Yorkville can accommodate
everyone's needs. They also have the best warrantee in the business
- two years, no fault. So if something breaks, and it's your fault,
they'll still fix it. |
|
Yamaha
audio consoles can be seen at many stadiums mixing world-class acts
in front of tens of thousands of people. Yamaha P.A. systems can also
be seen at clubs, arenas, theatres, etc. It is a trusted name in professional
and general-use sound reinforcement, and has been so for many years. |
|
The
Fender Passport P.A. systems are neat little all-in-one units that
are great for public address, conferences, recitals, are small folk
acts. The best part is that the entire system, including microphones
and cables, fits into one carrying case. |
|
Squire
has introduced some small, very affordable sound system components
that are perfect for a rehearsal P.A., or for low to medium power
applications. |

MICROPHONES
|
Apex
microphones are rapidly making their place known in the sound system
world and in recording studios. Those who sing once through the model
350 will not want to use anything else for a live show, especially
as the mic is tagged at $99 with an XLR cable included. The 420 and
430 microphones are fantastic large-diaphragm units that are incredibly
versatile; they are a must-hear for any recording studio engineer. |
|
AKG has long-ago
established themselves as a world-class forerunner among microphone
manufacturers. There are not many recording studios that do not
come equipped with at least one or two AKG 414 condenser multi-directional
mics. AKG also makes great wireless headset, lavilier and handheld
mics.
